Students and Teachers walk 5000Km for Trees

Studenti minn diversi klassijiet ipparteċipaw fit-tħawwil ta’ kważi mitt arbuxell u numru ta’ siġar fil-grawnds tal-iskola bħala parti minn sforz tal-EkoSkola sabiex inżidu mal-ħdura tal-iskola u sabiex titnaqqas il-marka tal-karbonju tagħna.

L-istudenti qalgħu dawn is-siġar u arbuxelli għall-iskola tagħna permezz ta’ inizjattiva ta’ Move Malta. Din hija organizzazzjoni li tinċentiva l-mixi attiv billi tippremja lill-parteċipanti b’siġra/arbuxxell għal kull 50 km li jimxu.

Dawn is-siġar u l-arbuxxelli partikolari intrebħu mill-istudenti tagħna meta pparteċipaw fl-attivitajiet tat-trekking organizzati mid-Dipartiment tal-PE tagħna aktar kmieni din is-sena. Nirringrazzjaw lill-istudenti kollha li offrew biex jgħinu fit-tħawwil ta’ dawn l-arbuxxelli, għax-xogħol iebes u l-entużjażmu tagħhom.

Students from multiple classes participated in the planting of almost 100 shrubs and a number of trees on the school grounds as part of an EkoSkola effort to make the school greener and to reduce our carbon footprint.

The students earned these trees and shrubs for our school through an initiative by Move Malta. This is an organization which incentivizes active walking by rewarding participants with a tree/shrub for every 50 km that they walk.

These particular trees and shrubs were earned by our students when they participated in the trekking activities organized by our PE Department earlier this year. We thank all the students who volunteered to help in the planting of these trees for their hard work and enthusiasm.
