Professor Margaret Mangion from the De Bono Institute was invited to the school by Ms Cassar Conti, the Ethics teacher. The purpose of this visit was for Professor Mangion to deliver a workshop on the use of De Bono’s Thinking Hats to the Year 9 Ethics students. This approach promotes critical thinking, a skill that is fundamental for Ethics students and is emphasised throughout the Ethics syllabus.
All the Ethics students gathered in the school gym, where they learned about the significance of each thinking hat and how they can be applied. At the end of the session, students worked in groups to create two posters: one explaining the meaning of each thinking hat, and another using the Thinking Hats framework to design a poster for their health campaign.
