Collaborative Learning in Chemistry  (Year 10)

In these scenes, the Year 10 Chemistry students kicked off the ‘Electrochemistry’ topic in style through collaborative learning. In groups, the students applied their knowledge of ionic theory and redox chemistry (oxidation – reduction) to write suitable balanced full and half ionic chemical equations, as per statement/question given. The use of mini whiteboards was beneficial as it served as an instant formative assessment tool to engage with the thinking, understanding and progress of all students at once. After just a double lesson, some fantastic results were seen. Well done to all Year 10 Chemistry students and keep up the good work!
