Courts of Justice

The Year 10 and Year 11 Social Studies option students had the opportunity to participate in an educational outing to the Courts of Justice in Valletta.  The students were able to go around various areas of the building, and information was given about the different law courts present. They were allowed to observe a criminal case and a civil case taking place at the time the students were there.  Then they spent time in Courtroom 22, which is the courtroom where juries are usually held, and there they participated in a very informative discussion about law practices, juries, and the roles of members of the judiciary.  Then the students were shown around the archives and the court library, where they also viewed manuscripts dating back to more than a hundred years ago.  It was an extremely interesting and informative outing.
