Secondary School Qualification and Profile (SSQ&P)

The Secondary School Qualification and Profile is the certificate given to all (State and Non-State) Year 11 students at the end of their secondary school.  Students can obtain an MQF Level 3, 2 or 1 in the SSQ&P.

This certificate level depends on how well they did in their formal education and also on the non-formal activities done both in school and after school hours with accredited institutions.

The percentage weight of each item is displayed in the table below.

The Educational Assessment Unit has just updated the curriculum website to include information about the Secondary School Qualification and Profile – https://curriculum.gov.mt/ssq_p/ .  The information is available in both Maltese and English.

The page includes:

  • The basic requirements needed for a student to obtain a level in the SSQ&P
  • The circular regulating the SSQ&P
  • The form needed by students to attest participation in after school non-formal activities
  • A 2 minute video clip about the SSQ&P (Maltese and English)
  • My contact details

For ease of reference, I am including the links for the video clips:

English Version:  https://curriculum.gov.mt/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/SSQ_P_English_video.mp4

Maltese Version:  https://curriculum.gov.mt/wp-content/uploads/2025/11/SSQ_P_Malti_video.mp4

You are encouraged to circulate the link for the webpage and the video clips with educators, parents/guardians and students.  Such video clips can be used during any meetings where you would need to pass information about the SSQ&P.
