Yr 7 students were working on their PBL project. The theme was Energy. They worked in groups, and by using tablets the students learnt about the different forms of energy and about the principle of conservation of energy. They also learnt how to use energy sustainably.
At the end of the unit, each group had to do a presentation about what they had learnt in class. Some groups made toys to show energy changes; others made solar ovens to show the use of renewable energy. Other groups created awareness of how to use energy wisely by creating board games and charts. One particular group chose to transmit their message through acting. They wrote a script to show how excessive use of fossil fuels is damaging our planet and how this damage can be reduced.
During this activity students learnt how to do research, work collaboratively in groups, share ideas and solve problems.
