Visit to the academy of disciplined forces

Studenti minn snin differenti kellhom l-opportunità li jżuru l-akkademja tal-forzi dixxiplinati u tgħallmu bosta affarijiet f’ambjent ta’ dixxiplina u ordni. Ġejna milqugħa minn spettur li spjega d-diversi xogħolijiet li tagħmel il-pulizija f’Malta, il-kwalifiki li għandu jkun hemm biex xi ħadd jidħol bħala rekluta u t-tip ta’ taħriġ fiżiku li jsir kemm waqt reklutaġġ, kif ukoll wara li jitlesta l-kors. Kellna ċ-ċans li naraw mil-viċin il-muturi li jintużaw għal diversi għanijiet, fosthom bħala skorta, kif ukoll kif jaħdem speed gun. Waqt mawra fis-shooting range, rajna taħriġ ta’ rekluti fejn ġew mgħallma dwar is-sigurtà u kif jipproteġu lilhom innifishom u lil ta’ madwarhom qabel ma bdew jipprattikaw l-isparar. Din iż-żjara spiċċat billi kellna dimostrazzjoni tal-għodod li l-pulizija jġorru magħhom bħala parti mill-uniformi bħal manetti, pepper spray u lembuba. Grazzi kbira lill-akkademja tal-forzi dixxiplinati talli laqgħuna u tal-ħin li ddedikaw għalina. Grazzi wkoll lis-Sa. Rachel Ann Zammit ta’ din l-informazzjoni!

Students from different year groups had the opportunity to visit the academy of the disciplined forces and learn various things within an environment characterised by discipline and order. We were welcomed by an inspector who explained the various duties performed by the police force in Malta, the qualifications required to join as a recruit, and the type of physical training carried out both during recruitment and after completing the course. We had the chance to see up close the motorcycles used for various purposes, including as escorts, as well as how a speed gun works. During a tour of the shooting range, we observed recruit training where they were taught about safety and how to protect themselves and those around them before beginning shooting practice. The visit ended with a demonstration of the tools police officers carry as part of their uniform, such as handcuffs, pepper spray, and batons. A big thank you to the academy of the disciplined forces for welcoming us and for the time they dedicated to us. Thanks to Ms. Rachel Ann Zammit, for sharing!
