Attention parents/guardians who work in the STEM field,
Kindly find underneath more details regarding the email sent yesterday on the same subject in caption:
The Science Centre within the Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes, organises ongoing campaigns promoting the uptake of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects by middle and secondary school students. Teen Science Café is one such activity that involves encounters between 12-year-old students and STEM professionals.
For this initiative we depend on the participation of professionals, from diverse sectors. We were wondering whether we can have the pleasure of having you participating in this event being held as follows:
Date: Wednesday 25th January 2023
Time: 9.20am – 10.35am (includes 4 15-minute sessions and a 2/3-minutes allowance between sessions)
Venue: St Thomas More College, Middle and Secondary School, Zejtun.
Location: https://goo.gl/maps/XJpVapRcHt3mXPV99
During these sessions, you would share any personal/professional experiences to encourage students follow a similar career path.
Suggestions on what to include in this session include:
– What generated your interest in science;
– Who/what encouraged you to take up your career;
– Any difficulties you have managed to overcome;
– Major job satisfactions;
– Any special/particular experiences;
– Importance of studying sciences for your career;
– Some time for questions from students.
Whilst we understand constraints that might restrict your participation, we would be extremely grateful if you could support our initiative to leverage the uptake of STEM education amongst Maltese students. We would be more than happy to get in touch and provide more details. If possible, kindly confirm participation by the 9th January 2023, by sending an email at adrian.galea@ilearn.edu.mt.
Thanking you in advance for your support.

Attention parents/guardians who work in the STEM field
On Wednesday 25th January, our school in collaboration with the Science department is going to organise a Teen Science Café for our Year 8 students. This involves several workshops where professionals from the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) will give a short presentation to our students. If you work in one of these fields and are interested to be one of the guest speakers, I invite you to send me an email at adrian.galea@ilearn.edu.mt.
Thanks in advance
