Good morning! We are excited to share with you about a heartfelt donation our school made to Second Chance Pet Adoption Service! Second Chance is a dedicated animal rescue group that takes in stray cats ![]()
, many of them vulnerable mother cats and their kittens, providing them with the urgent care they need.
At present, they are looking after several mother cats and their litters. As part of the Animal Awareness Week held during the first week of April, the Student Council collected donations, a portion of which was forwarded to support this voluntary organisation.
To offer an insight into the expenses involved, we are sharing with this post four bills paid by Second Chance between 3rd and 5th May. These cover the cost of food, veterinary services and medications.
Among other things, the donations helped fund the treatment of a mother cat suffering from cat flu, rescued from Marsaxlokk shortly before giving birth indoors to five healthy kittens. They also contributed towards the care of three orphaned black kittens, as shown in the photos below, who were bottle-fed and treated for ringworm.
Thanks to the initiative of the 2024–2025 Student Council, these cats have received the medical attention they needed to begin their recovery. While the donations collected did not fully cover all the expenses shown, Second Chance has gratefully received €130.![]()
