Randan 2024

L-għodwa t-tajba! Ilbieraħ tajna bidu għar-Randan 2024. Ir-Randan: żmien li jippreparana għall-Għid il-Kbir li din is-sena ser inkunu qegħdin niċċelebrawh fil-31 ta’ Marzu. Tul dan iż-żmien ta’ riflessjoni għandna naħsbu ftit dwar ħajjitna, id-diffikultajiet tagħna u kif nistgħu nkunu bnedmin aħjar. Aħna ser inkunu qegħdin nimxu magħkom tul dawn l-erbgħin jum li ġejjin. Nixtiqulkom Randan imbierek u ta’ riflessjoni!🙏

Good morning! Yesterday, we began Lent 2024. Lent is a time to prepare for Easter, which this year will be celebrated on March 31st. During this moment of contemplation, we should focus on our lifestyle, difficulties and how we might become better people. We will walk alongside you for the next 40 days. Wishing you all a blessed and reflective Lent!🙏

Għar-Randan 2024, l-Isqfijiet Maltin jixtiequna nirriflettu fuq il- ħames doni mingħand il-Mulej li l-poeta nazzjonali tagħna Dun Karm Psaila jsemmi fl-Innu Malti: id-dehen, il-ħniena, is-saħħa, l-għaqda u s-sliem. L-ewwel don hu d-dehen: il-kapaċità li wieħed jifhem, jagħraf u jiddeċiedi li jagħżel it-tajjeb mill-ħażin. L-għerf u l-għaqal iwasslu biex nieħdu l-aħħar deċiżjonijiet li jmorru ‘l bogħod mill-interessi personali. Fid-deċiżjonijiet tagħna għandhom jinkludu lil kulħadd b’ħafna mħabba.

For Lent 2024, the Maltese Bishops are proposing that we ought to reflect on the five gifts of God that Dun Karm Psaila, our national poet, reminds us of in Malta’s national anthem: sound judgement, mercy, health, unity and peace. The first gift is sound judgement: the ability to understand, recognise and decide to choose good over evil. Wisdom and acting responsibly means setting aside self-interest in our decision-making, taking everyone into consideration.
