Year 11 SEAC students during their outing at Golden Sands Resort & Spa. During this outing the students had the opportunity to see the hotel from both the guests’ and employees’ perspective. Whilst going round different parts of the hotel the students have seen different practices discussed in class being put into practice.
The students also had the opportunity to meet with the guest experience manager, who gave them his share of experience and shared with them valuable advice on how to tackle different guest complaints and the importance of offering a wonderful experience to the guests.
During this outing the students met the Food & Beverage assistant manager who explained about the various Food & Beverage outlets at the hotel which range from bars, casual dining, and fine dining outlets. They learnt about formal service, and they were given the chance to help in the setting up of tables at the buffet restaurant.
These outings help the students experience the day to day running of hotels and see the different aspects discussed in class put into practice. The students are also given the chance to feel part of the industry whilst meeting with professionals working in the industry and hearing their journey and different experiences.
