Learning Geography is Fun

During the past week, Year 7 students used Virtual Reality headsets to help them learn and understand that Earth is part of the Solar System. They navigated through space and planets to understand that Earth is different as it has continents and oceans. Then students had the opportunity to see a place of interest from each continent like the forbidden city in China, the Eiffel Tower in France and the statue of Liberty in America and much more, and they had to guess in which country it is located and in which continent. Through VR it looked like as if they were there in reality!!

The lesson ended by a short worksheet in the form of a quizz.

It was a blast and thanks to all students it was really fun, exciting and amazing.

One nice comment was “ Ms, I never traveled abroad, but in one lesson I had the  opportunity to visit the world!”.

Stay tuned for more. Next geography activity is learning map work through a treasure hunt at Mdina!!!

Year 8 students stay tuned as well. Your turn for a VR activity is in term 2. Are you brave enough to enter inside a volcano and travel deep down to the Earth`s core? Have you ever experienced an earthquake before? Your VR activity is going to be about earthquakes and volcanoes😊
