On Friday, 7th November 2025, a group of Year 11 students had the opportunity to visit the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS), Malta’s leading post-secondary institution specializing in tourism and hospitality education. ITS offers a diverse range of programmes including Foundation and Diploma courses in Travel & Tourism, Events and Leisure, Rooms Division, and Food Preparation and Service, as well as Bachelor degrees in Culinary Arts, Gastronomy, and International Hospitality Management.
We were warmly welcomed by Mr. Schembri, a career advisor at ITS, who delivered an engaging presentation and facilitated an interactive activity that sparked curiosity and enthusiasm among the students. Following this, we toured several of the institute’s facilities, including state-of-the-art labs, classrooms, professional kitchens, and training restaurants, which gave us a firsthand look at the dynamic learning environment provided by ITS.
The visit, organised by the school Guidance Team, concluded on a delicious note as we enjoyed a meal at The Apron, one of ITS’s in-house restaurants, where students train in real-world hospitality settings. It was a memorable experience that offered valuable insights into the exciting world of tourism and hospitality.
