Today began with a visit to our first school in Montodine, a charming village near Crema. We received a warm welcome from Ms Chiara Edallo and the Assistant Head, setting a friendly tone for the day. Following a school tour, we joined a class where students showcased their school through a detailed PowerPoint presentation. In return, we shared presentations about the Maltese Islands, our educational system, and our school.
Afterwards, we had the honour of meeting the Mayor of Montodine, who showed great enthusiasm for learning about Malta and its educational practices. Following this, we were privileged to meet the Head of School, Ms Maugeri, who delighted in tasting various local traditional foods and treats. We presented her with gifts on behalf of our school and Mr Adrian Galea, our head of School. As a token of Maltese hospitality, we also shared traditional Maltese sweets, including figolli, qagħaq tal-għasel, pastini tal-lewż, and pastini biċ-ċirasa. It was a heartfelt exchange of cultures.
Later, we were divided into groups to participate in various lessons before indulging in a delightful lunch at a local trattoria—the food was exceptional and truly memorable. Back in Crema, Ms. Edallo, an English teacher at the school, guided us on a fascinating tour of the city. We explored notable landmarks, including the cathedral’s crypts and the vescovo tombs, and ascended the cathedral tower, where we experienced the unique resonance of the bells during a funeral service. This unforgettable moment added a deeply moving note to an already enriching day.

Our third day began with a visit to the charming village of Credera, where we explored another school. Students participated in an ice-breaking activity to introduce themselves, followed by a presentation about the Maltese islands. They were then divided into groups to join different lessons, including English, Italian, and Maths. This provided an opportunity for them to share good practices with their Italian peers and learn new things. After school, we travelled to Bergamo, a city uniquely divided into two parts: the modern Bergamo Bassa and the historic Bergamo Alta. We enjoyed a ride on the Funicular, which was an exciting experience for our students. The day continued with a guided tour where we visited many beautiful churches and cathedrals and had the opportunity to explore one of the famous towers, The Rocca. From there, we enjoyed breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and hills, and, last but not least, the Atalanta Stadium. Forza Atalanta! We concluded our day at an Irish pub, John Keating, where we tried delicious food while watching Roma vs. Bilbao and Manchester United vs. Real Sociedad.

We began our day by travelling to Milan, one of Italy’s most famous cities, renowned worldwide for its fashion scene. Our journey included a bus ride followed by a train trip, taking us right into the heart of Milan. We explored iconic landmarks such as the Duomo, Palazzo Sforzesco, Mercato Vecchio, and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Strolling down the main street of luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Gucci was an experience to remember. Later, we visited a charming shop featuring traditional foods and ready-made delicacies like oysters, lobsters, and mussels. Our day concluded with a visit to the Institute for the Visually Impaired, where we participated in an hour-long tour called *Dialogo Nel Buio*. This unique experience allowed us to understand and immerse ourselves in the daily life of the blind. Finally, we returned to Crema for Dinner.

Every beginning has an end. With our luggage packed, we checked out and set off for one of Italy’s most tranquil spots: Lake Iseo, embraced by magnificent mountains. We attended Mass at Pieve Sant’Andrea and had lunch at one of the restaurants overlooking the serene waters. Later, we took a boat trip, exploring three small islands. Once back on land, we wandered through the Riserva Naturale Torbiere del Sebino, immersing ourselves in the gentle sounds of birds singing and leaves rustling in the trees. Our journey concluded at Bergamo Airport, where we prepared for our flight to Malta.
