English Roleplay with Year 10s

As a closing task on our first topic reflecting on our past summer and summer-related activities, Year 10 Sapphire participated in a speaking task where they roleplayed a summer job interview. The students learned vocabulary related to the topic, and discussed what to expect at an interview, what sort of questions may be asked and how to answer them. Half the class took on the role of an interviewer, whereas the other half acted as job applicants. After some time preparing for their questions, the students acted out the interview in pairs and rotated around the class. Finally, students acting as interviewers were asked to pick their preferred candidate and to give reasons for their choice. Other feedback and tips to improve performance of both interviewers and job seekers was also given.
