Nhar L-Erbgħa li għadda, il-gruppi tal-istudenti tat-8 Sena li jitgħallmu l-Ispanjol kellhom l-opportunità li jaraw kif issir u jduqu l-paella Spanjola. Il-paella taf il-bidu tagħha fil-belt ta’ Valencia u l-ingredjent ewlieni huwa r-ross. Wieħed jista’ jsib diversi tipi ta’ paella: il-Paella de Marisco (paella bil-ħut), il-Paella Negra (paella bil-linka tal-klamari) u l-Paella Valenciana (paella tradizzjonali li tinkludi kemm it-tiġieġ u l-laħam). Dan kollu kien possibbli bis-saħħa tas-Sa De La Fuente González, li hija omm studenta fl-iskola tagħna, li ġiet tipprepara l-paella lill-istudenti tagħna u għaddiet ħafna in-formazzjoni dwar it-tisjir u l-oriġini ta’ dan il-platt delizzjuż. Grazzi speċjali tmur għas-Sa E Putignano, għalliema tal-Ispanjol, li ħadet ħsieb l-organizzazzjoni ta’ din l-attività.
Last Wednesday, our Spanish Year 8 groups were given the opportunity to see how the Spanish Paella is made. Paella originates from Valencia and it is made mainly with rice. One can find various types of paella: the Paella de Marisco (the fish paella), the Paella Negra (the black paella – which is made with squid ink) and the Paella Valenciana (the traditional paella – which can include chicken and meat). Thanks to Ms. De la Fuente González, a parent of one of our students, our students had the chance to taste the paella and got loads of information about the origins of this delicious dish. This activity would not be possible without the coordination of our teacher of Spanish, Ms. E Putignano, who organised this activity.
