Nhar it-Tlieta 9 ta’ April l-istudenti tal-klassijiet 8 Ruby, Sapphire u Topaz irħewlha lejn il-Kalkara sabiex iżuru l-Esplora Interactive Science Centre bħala parti mill-istudju tagħhom tal-Ġeografija. Tul din iż-żjara, l-istudenti setgħu jaraw u jifhmu aħjar xi jkun qiegħed jiġri waqt żbroff ta’ vulkan. Ġabru informazzjoni dwar kif jista’ jinbena bini li jiflaħ għat-terramoti u kellhom iċ-ċans jaraw tromba tar-riħ . Tgħallmu wkoll kif jintuża r-riħ u l-importanza tiegħu fl-ibburdjar, fost ħafna affarijiet oħra. Ma jistax jonqos li waqt din iż-żjara l-istudenti żaru l-planetarju u tgħallmu iżjed dwar l-ispazju u t-teknoloġija. Kienet ġurnata speċjali għaliex kellhom iċ-ċans ikunu astronawti fejn ippruvaw jiġbru oġġetti b’idejn robotiċi, jgħixu ġewwa spaceship u jiskopru l-importanza tal-astrobotanika. Grazzi speċjali lis-Sa A Calleja Jones li organizzat din l-attività u grazzi lil kull min qasam magħna dawn ir-ritratti.
On Tuesday, April 9, our Year 8 Ruby, Sapphire, and Topaz students departed school for Kalkara to attend an informative tour to the Esplora Interactive Science Centre as part of their Geography studies. Students were able to observe and comprehend how and what happens when a volcano erupts, how to create earthquake-resistant buildings, witness a real tornado, and learn how and why winds are vital for sailing, among other things. In addition, they went to the planetarium to learn more about space and technology. They were also astronauts for the day, attempting to collect stuff with robotic hands, living in a space-ship , and learning about astrobotany and its significance. A particular thanks to Ms A Calleja Jones for coordinating this excursion, as well as to those who shared their photos with us.
