Familiarizing with Atomic Structure and the Periodic Table

During the past week, the Year 9 Chemistry students enjoyed learning about atoms (the smallest unit of ordinary matter that forms a chemical element), the concept of atomic structure (with special reference to subatomic particles: protons, neutrons and electrons) and the periodic table of elements. The students also learned about the history of the atom and that of the periodic table.

In these scenes, the Group B class was divided into groups with the aim of drawing the atomic structure of some elements in the Periodic Table. After just a double lesson, some fantastic results were seen. Well done to all Year 9 Chemistry students and keep up the good work!
