Year 8 Separating Mixtures

F’sensiela ta’ esperminet prattiċi, l-istudenti tax-Xjenza tat-8 Sena tgħallmu dak kollu meħtieġ dwar kif jifirdu taħlitiet varji. Ħaddmu tekniċi differenti fosthom li jifirdu bl-idejn, b’kalamita, b’sistema ta’ filtrazzjoni, permezz tal-evaporazzjoni jew tad-distillazzjoni jew tal-kromatogafija. Tgħallmu wkoll dwar liema sustanzi kapaċi jinħallu jew le, u liema huma l-fatturi li jaffettwaw ir-rata li biha dawn is-sustanzi jinħallu. Prosit lill-istudenti kollha involuti għall-interess li wrew. Prosit ukoll tas-sehem tagħhom u l-entużjażmu li wrew matul dawn l-esperimenti xjentifiċi.

In a series of hands-on experiments, Year 8 Science students learnt all about separating mixtures. They practiced different techniques such as separation by hand and by magnet, filtration, evaporation, distillation and chromatography. They also learned about soluble and insoluble substances, and the factors which affect the rate of solubility. Well done to all students involved for their interest, participation and enthusiasm during Science experiments 😊.
