The English Department recently hosted a high-energy ‘Supercharged Story Slam’ in the School Hall on Wednesday, 28th January 2026, delivered to three Year 7 classes during their English lessons. Produced by Bouncy Zebra Theatre, this interactive performance transformed the importance of reading into a captivating, fast-paced adventure.
Led by two dynamic actors, students were placed at the heart of the creative process, taking the reins to build an original story from scratch. They actively applied their classroom learning by selecting the genre, protagonist, antagonist, and plot, collaboratively shaping a unique narrative. The excitement in the hall was palpable, particularly when Mr Glenn Micallef, an English teacher, was invited on stage to record the students’ ideas in real time.
The highlight of the event saw two Year 7 students wearing costumes and performing their newly created story, enthusiastically cheered on by their peers. The session proved to be a memorable blend of learning, creativity, and laughter, reinforcing the joy and power of storytelling.
A special thanks goes to the English Department and teachers for organising this event.![]()
