Physics Experiments in Year 9

At the beginning of the academic year, our Year 9 students, as part of their Physics course, begin to explore the relationship between an object’s volume, mass, and density. They will start to understand concepts that explain why small metal objects sink while large cruise ships float.

During their studies, students delved into the realm of irregular solids and conducted density experiments with liquids in our school labs. They were encouraged to further explore this concept at home by trying similar experiments with various common household liquids. Many students accepted this challenge and examined the characteristics and behaviours of these liquids. Through these experiments, they gained valuable insights into how different materials interact.

Fil-bidu tas-sena akkademika, l-istudenti tagħna ta’ 9 Sena, bħala parti mill-kors tagħhom tal-Fiżika, jibdew jesploraw ir-relazzjoni bejn il-volum, il-massa, u d-densità tal-oġġett. Huma jibdew jifhmu kunċetti li jispjegaw għaliex oġġetti żgħar tal-metall jinżlu fil-qiegħ fl-ilma filwaqt li vapuri kbar jibqgħu f’wiċċ l-ilma.

Matul l-istudji tagħhom, l-istudenti wettqu esperimenti ta’ densità ta’ likwidi kif ukoll ta’ oġġetti irregolari fil-laboratorji tal-iskola tagħna. Huma ġew imħeġġa biex jesploraw dan il-kunċett id-dar billi jippruvaw esperimenti simili b’ likwidi komuni li nsibu dar. Ħafna studenti aċċettaw din l-isfida u eżaminaw il-karatteristiċi u l-imġiba ta’ dawn il-likwidi. Permezz ta’ dawn l-esperimenti, huma kisbu għarfien prezzjuż dwar kif materjali differenti jinteraġixxu.
