Activity 1
Students in 8 Topaz were given 5 cubes with different scenes/people on each side of the cube. Students were asked to roll each cube, and according to which side was facing up, they had to create a short oral story. All three students present, Keith, Raphael, & Iziah, managed to complete the task, and their stories were hilarious.
Activity 2
After finishing the play Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare, 9 Topaz students were divided into 2 groups. One group focused on matching the names of cities & people from the play with a short description of their relevance. The other group, worked with a domino-style game with characters from the play, reflecting on who the enemies and friends/lovers are. Students enjoyed revising the play as it was more hands-on than just reading the play at their desks.
